Just when you thought I didn't mean what I wrote yesterday about our no-spend challenge, I'm Back! And my fortune for April says:
"Coffee will be your downfall."
That's right. April 1st at 5:30 in the morning, I blew my no-spend budget- for a cup of coffee. Come on, you knew that was coming, right? I'd driven Al to work so we could have a little "us" time, and we didn't make coffee, and I had a 45 minute drive home, alone, with nothing on the radio except dj's pranking each other (I pay for XM for this? More on that later.) And I was DESPERATE, ok? There, I said it. I spent the last $1.50 in my pocket for 20 oz of not-too-bad convenience store coffee to keep myself awake on the way home.
I know. I could have gotten up 15 minutes earlier and made better, cheaper coffee at home. I could have sung along with the radio until I got home (which I did.) I could have stayed home and saved on gas, and coffee, but... well, I didn't. I wanted that little bit of time to chat with Al with no kids around. We confess, we are weird, but we both really enjoy our car time together, and that is worth a lot.
Therefore, I confess, I start my no spend challenge $1.50 in the hole. I'm all about keeping it real around here, so I had to confess. So, there you go. Whew, I feel better. Don't you?
